Sue Newton

Director, National HR Sales

Sue Newton is Salo’s director of national HR sales. She is a driven business development professional who loves building relationships and helping clients with exceptional talent resources. Her unique experience as a former athlete and college basketball coach informs how she lives her life, whether she’s at work, at home, or out playing in her community.

Sue has been a trusted partner to both clients and consultants as a senior business development director (BDD) at Salo for the past twelve years. She helps clients by bringing them exceptional talent for interim roles and projects that require HR expertise. Sue has helped build Salo’s brand in HR, growing the Minneapolis market exponentially. Her experience, her ability to build strong relationships, and her drive to bring in new business, makes for a perfect match to further grow Salo’s national HR presence.

Prior to joining Salo, Sue held sales roles in the employee benefits industry and happens to also be a former women’s collegiate basketball coach. Sue holds a degree in exercise science from the University of Minnesota Duluth. She volunteers for the development committee for the Pinky Swear Foundation, which provides emotional and financial support to kids with cancer and serves as an advisory board member for Her Next Play, a nonprofit dedicated to developing women leaders through sports.

Sue lives in Rosemount, Minnesota with her husband and twin boys. You will find them in the gym hooping it up most nights and weekends!
