Richard Walch
Director, National Finance Sales
Richard Walch is director of national finance sales, where his passion for connecting people supports Salo’s growth into new markets. Richard’s high-energy communication style, candor, and love of the old-fashioned cold call (you read that right—love) make him a natural fit for building new connections, networks, and markets as Salo continues to grow.
Before moving into his current role, Richard worked at Salo for more than five years as a senior business development director in the Minneapolis market. He delivered best-in-class service to a wide variety of clients by aligning their needs with Salo’s national network of senior level consultants.
Richard came to Salo with nearly 15 years of public accounting and industry experience. He started his career in the audit and assurance practice at Deloitte in Minneapolis and expanded into a variety of functional finance and accounting roles, including at a large Minneapolis-based architecture firm and seven years in accounting, finance, and project management at Ameriprise Financial.
Richard serves as treasurer on the board for two nonprofit organizations: Cayo, an arts diplomacy organization that fosters global citizenship for American and Cuban musicians and the Springbrook Nature Center Foundation, which administers a large urban park in his hometown of Fridley, Minnesota. He is also on the finance committee of the Latino Economic Development Center, supporting Latino-owned small businesses in the Twin Cities.
Richard holds an accounting degree from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and is a CPA (inactive). He lives in Fridley with his wife, two daughters, and two dogs (Ginger, a bloodhound, and Cocoa, a basset hound). He is an avid disc golfer and voracious reader.
