Marc Kermisch is executive vice president and chief information officer (CIO) of Bluestem Brands Inc, a direct-to-consumer company focused on providing credit and retail services to underserved consumers. As CIO, he is tasked with developing proprietary eCommerce software, evolving its credit, merchandising, and sourcing systems as well as helping lead the overall strategy of the company.
Prior to joining Bluestem Brands in the summer of 2019, Marc was CIO and vice president of The Garage at Red Wing Shoe Company from 2014-2019. At Red Wing, Marc drove the implementation of a new retail point of sale system, drove the initial launch of eCommerce and subsequent evolution of its eCommerce platform, helped lead the transformation of its systems and processes for its business-to-business go-to-market and service strategy, successfully implemented an agile approach to delivery, and formed a new department focused on driving innovation across Red Wing Shoe Company.
Marc spent more than 20 years building technology products and services across retail, public utilities, financial services, manufacturing, professional services, and high-tech start-ups. He has held roles from support and IT operations to application development and program management.
Marc has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He currently resides in Minnetonka, Minnesota. His hobbies include cycling, cross-country skiing, and traveling. Marc is married and has a daughter and two dogs.
