Lori Riley is vice president, human capital for Optum, including Optum Technology, Enterprise Clinical Services, Optum Insight, and Optum Global Operations. She is also the chief people officer for Rally Health, an organization that provides people with personalized, data-driven healthcare information and recommendations.
Lori has a proven track record for driving exceptional performance by building strong and talented teams. Previously she was vice president, human capital for Optum Operations. During a few years away from UnitedHealth Group (Optum’s parent company), she was senior vice president, chief human resources and information officer, of Evine Live (now iMedia), where she led human resources, technology, facilities, and loss prevention. Prior to that, she was vice president, human capital at UnitedHealth Group. In that role, she led human capital operations with a global team of 400 responsible for employee relations, HR Direct, payroll, diversity and inclusion, human capital analytics and reporting, and HR systems.
She spent 15 years at Target Corporation in numerous human resources and technology positions, including vice president target technology, vice president human resources operations, human resources director, and director of compensation. Before joining Target, Lori was the head of HR for the city of Crystal, a suburb of Minneapolis. She also worked at NICOR Gas in a variety of HR and operations roles.
Lori has a master’s degree in education, an M.B.A., and a B.S. in personnel and industrial relations from Northern Illinois University. She holds certifications in compensation and benefits (CCP, CBP) from the [email protected] and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from HRCI.
Her husband Andrew is a sixth-grade teacher. They have three children and a dog named Duke. She enjoys biking, reading, travel, and time with extended family.
