
Janeen Vogelaar

Janeen Vogelaar is an award-winning brand, marketing, and creative professional with experience in markets across the U.S. and internationally. She specializes in driving growth and engagement—whether she’s creating multi-platform marketing campaigns, building diverse creative teams, or leading impactful business initiatives.
Before joining Salo, Janeen was the head of marketing, creative & brand at KARE 11 (a Minneapolis-based NBC affiliate owned by TEGNA Inc.) and served as a regional station marketing council lead for NBC. In her role at KARE 11, she was responsible for developing business strategy, brand strategy, and long-range go-to-market planning. Prior to TEGNA, Inc., Janeen spent 15 years in California and in the U.K., working in creative leadership roles at a variety of media companies, including BBC Worldwide, ITVS, Tribune, and CBS.
Outside of Salo, Janeen is also a filmmaker/executive producer, thought leader, and influential content marketer. She was the executive producer of an Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University award-winning, feature-length documentary, Love Them First: Lessons from Lucy Laney. She is also on the board of Solid Ground, an award-winning nonprofit organization that helps families break the cycle of homelessness and poverty by providing safe and affordable housing and support programming.
Janeen and her husband, Jody, live in North Oaks with their two boys, Greyson and Anders. You’ll generally find her cheering on her kids at various sporting activities, biking, or soaking up the picturesque lakes and trails around North Oaks. She loves stories and can be found reading, listening to history podcasts, and watching documentary films.
