After a change in staff, a client with 6,800 locations worldwide wanted to make the business case for HR technology improvements to improve and create efficiencies around payroll.
Salo provided a consultant with expertise in payroll processes and related technologies. Over the course of the project, our Salo expert consultant:
- Conducted workshops with the HR/payroll teams to identify concerns and issues
Interviewed end users and administrators
- Evaluated current processes and systems
- Documented findings and made recommendations to the team
Based on the knowledge she gathered, the consultant was able to identify several opportunities for improvement, such as making payroll processes more efficient, expanding security roles to reduce bottlenecks, enabling PTO requests in UltiPro, and re-assessing manager self-service functionality. Additionally, the consultant created a heatmap to help the team prioritize projects against business value, effort, and resources.
As a result of the consultant’s work, the client got the green light to implement a test environment to explore, reconfigure, and deploy new functionality options. Additionally, the client was able to change security setups, enhance audit activities, refine segregation of duties, provide workflow documentation, train new staff, and improve departmental credibility throughout the organization.
