One of the nation’s largest drugstore chains and a leading pharmacy benefit manager created a joint venture to deliver prescriptions to consumers’ home. The new company needed to build an HR function from the ground up. They were in search of an interim leader to lead their total benefits work and build a brand new benefits and compensation structure. They wanted a strong, experienced consultant who had a proven track record working with leadership.


Our Salo expert consultant had all the experience the client needed and more. She was able to work remotely for most of the work, but also traveled to their offices from her home in Michigan regularly. This arrangement worked well for the client who was able to access strong talent in a different labor market.


In one year, Salo’s consultant led the client in building a total benefits structure, strategy, and team. She also advised the leadership team for a period of time when the CHRO left the company. Eventually, she was asked to join the client’s team permanently, attesting to the work she had done for them.
