We are pleased to welcome Mark Zesbaugh to Salo as our new board chair.
Zesbaugh is currently president of Entrepreneurial 180, an organization that helps entrepreneurs take their business beyond the start-up phase successfully. Previously, Zesbaugh spent 30 years in the life insurance industry, including roles as president and CEO of Security Life and CEO of Allianz Life/LifeUSA. He sits on numerous for-profit and not-for-profit boards.
Zesbaugh will be the first chair of our newly formed governance board, established to help us transition from an entrepreneurial-stage organization to a new level of maturity.
“For many reasons, Mark is uniquely qualified to help Salo achieve its business goals,” said John Folkestad, our co-owner, along with Amy Langer. “In addition to his considerable industry experience, Mark has served on numerous boards—both as part of the management team and as board director—so he knows how to manage board dynamics constructively. He’s also passionate about culture and people—and that is a huge driver for us.”
“Salo’s culture is a big competitive advantage and one of the reasons I’m energized by working with Salo,” said Zesbaugh. “Their work fills a critical need in the marketplace for both companies and consultants; and that need will only increase over time as technology and flexible working options continue to disrupt business. Our job as a board will be to provide the diverse perspectives and guidance Salo needs to grow and succeed. I’m looking forward to getting started.”
We continue to finalize other board positions and will announce additional members of the board at later date.
