This holiday season, Salo has a new way to fulfill our mission: “connecting people to make a difference”. We’re participating in Toys for Tots (and you can help, too).
As you likely know, Toys for Tots is a community action program supported by the work of U.S. Marines, Marine Corps League Members, Veteran Marines and a diverse volunteer network. It brings joy and hope to America’s economically disadvantaged children by collecting new, unwrapped toys to distribute to the less fortunate children in our communities throughout December.
This year: Virtual collection boxes!
In a normal year, businesses host Toys for Tot’s collection boxes to collect donated toys. Due to COVID-19, Toys for Tots can’t place as many collection boxes in businesses this year. So, they created a virtual toy box.
How Salo is participating
Salo is hosting a virtual toy drive—making it safe and easy for employees to make monetary or toy donations. As a company, we’ll match our employees’ gifts of $5 per toy up to $500 total. At Salo, we’re are passionate about influencing change within our community to impact the lives of others. Participating in Toys for Tots this holiday season exemplifies our promise of connecting to make a difference.
How you can contribute
You can donate to the virtual collection box online—just select the child’s age and toys you would like to give. Your donation will be given to the children who need them the most. Or, you can offer to host a collection box at your organization or volunteer with Toys for Tots in your area. Find your local campaign to get started.
