Salo Compass—our groundbreaking program for public accountants—recently turned 10. And celebrations ensued!
Started in 2012, Salo Compass is a salaried rotational program that gives public accountants the experience and confidence to move into industry. Through the program, each participant experiences a variety of workplaces and roles—all with mentoring from the Salo Compass staff.
Celebrating the Compass community
We strive to create a close-knit community with both current and past members to foster peer-to-peer connection and support. And, when it came time to celebrate, we invited them all! It’s not surprising that people flew in from several states to join in the festivities.
The community celebrated the 10-year milestone with a day of fun that included:
- A gathering at Salo’s Minneapolis headquarters with Salo’s founders, leadership team, business development directors, Compass alumni, and current Compass consultants
- Curling (yes, that ice sport with brooms) at Frogtown Curling Club in St. Paul
- Dinner at The Freehouse for current Compass consultants, with an alumni meet-up at ThreeJack
The Compass team is very grateful that so many people were able to come together to celebrate.
Compass continues to expand and grow
While Compass gives public accountants a way to expand their careers, the Compass program itself is also expanding. With Salo’s national expansion, Compass is growing and currently includes consultants in 11 different cities around the country, including Milwaukee, Houston, and Denver, to name a few. And, the expansion continues, with more areas planned for the future.
