We are thrilled to announce our service offerings in Chicago have expanded to include human resources.
Our Chicago office opened in 2010, primarily offering finance and accounting services. Now, we look forward to using that 10 years of market experience to expand our HR offering.
We know Chicago’s talent pool offers a rich depth of senior-level HR professionals and by choosing a career path as consultants, they could have the benefits of being part of an organization, a flexible work schedule and a proven track record of success. We see the opportunity to connect this type of talent to c-suite and executive-level interim roles and project leadership within organizations of all sizes. The flexible and relationship-driven approach we offer will allow each consultant and organization to get exactly the engagement they need – because there is no one-size-fits-all service offering.
We are excited to be a bigger part of the diverse and ever-changing Chicago market. To help us build this HR offering, we have welcomed John Flayter and Kelly Garst, two experienced Chicago HR leaders, to the team.
John Flayter is our new managing director, HR. Flayter will shape the overall leadership, vision, guidance and management of the business unit. Prior to joining Salo, Flayter provided HR leadership with IQVIA, Alight Solutions and Stericycle.
With more than 20 years of corporate and management consulting experience, Flayter is a knowledgeable voice across many human resources functions including talent acquisition, employee relations and strategic communications.
He shared, “I’m eager to put my past experience in building engaged teams and working with Chicago clients and consultants to place the best people possible in each position. Opportunities abound in Chicago, making it a great fit for a fast-growth business like Salo. It feels like a natural next step from Minneapolis, and I hope to be able to replicate and build upon the success we’ve seen already with their human resources offerings there.”
Kelly Garst is our new business development director, HR. Garst will drive business development efforts, build meaningful relationships within the community and work to support the continued growth of Salo. Prior to joining Salo, Garst provided HR leadership with TranSystems, FTD and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
An experienced human resources leader, Garst has a diverse background across industry sectors in many human resources functions including leadership consulting, talent management and organizational development.
