Langer’s Success Reflects Salo’s Decade of Milestones in the Staffing Industry
Highlighting a five year run of industry recognition, Amy Langer, co-founder and managing partner of Salo and its brand partners NumberWorks and Oberon, was recognized tonight by Finance and Commerce as a 2012 “Top Woman in Finance.” Langer received the award at a dinner hosted by the publication.
Langer joins Denise Doll-Kiefer, Salo’s CFO, who received the award in 2009. This is the 12th year in which Finance and Commerce is honoring women who have made a significant contribution to their professions and communities in Minnesota. While many honorees come from banking and finance, others work in private business, real estate, law firms, accounting firms, non-profits and government. Salo is one of just a few staffing firms that have been honored over the years.
John Folkestad, co-founder of Salo and managing partner, said “I am so very pleased for Amy. In her own right, Langer has been recognized widely for her professional achievements and community service—both nationally and in the Twin Cities. Starting in 2008 with her award as the National Association of Women Business Owners “Business Owner of The Year,” Langer’s success has been noted with awards from, among many other organizations, Entrepreneur Magazine (Fastest Growing Woman-Owned Business, 2008), the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota (2010 Champion for Equality) and by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal (Forty Under 40, 2010 and many others)
Salo celebrated its 10th anniversary at a party on October 11, 2012. Held at Aria at the Jeune Lune Theater, the event was attended by more than 700 clients, colleagues, consultants, associates, family and friends of the firm.
